PCD
The PCD is a product for the fixed platform and land market, to cap and seal the return mud flow. Mounted on top of the BOP and combined with a choke and control system, it provides greatly improved control of the bottom hole pressure. Depending on the number of seals installed, the PCD technology can be built to handle all ranges of dynamic and static pressure.
The PCD acts as an Active Multi Seal Barrier System and will be used in operations such as:
- Manage Pressure Drilling (MPD)
- Underbalanced Operations (UBO)
The target is challenging wells, typically:
- Extended Reach Drilling (ERD)
- High Pressure High Temperature (HPHT)
The PCD has been tested to relevant sections in the API 16 RCD standard, using both WBM and OBM up to 80 ⁰C [176 ⁰F].

The specifications on the different PCD’s are based upon the standard configuration of 4 sealing elements.
