SIEM WIS is also focusing on deepwater riserless operations, seeking to provide ingenious technology and solutions within this industry segment. One of the challenges all suppliers and operators of non-permanent intervention equipment experience when operating in deep water, is the size and extent of accumulator packages required for the equipment. Most of the accumulator capacity is only planned for operational use during emergency situations (close shear-seal ram ie).

SIEM WIS has a patent, covering the Compact Actuator Accumulator (CAA), which utilizes known technologies and solutions for new applications. The CAA, which is modular and retrievable, will enable a greater reduction than conventional accumulator packages for intervention equipment and can lead to a potentially larger reduction in weight and size of the intervention equipment in total. The CAA can be mounted directly onto a valve actuator, connected to a conventional accumulator bank and/or as a retrievable set of addon accumulators.
